Who are h:Sharp
h:Sharp met and formed at New College Stamford in September 2021, the group was put together for the 1st year of the Music Performance course, early in the first term they wrote “Is It Us” realising they would need a female vocal Jamila, from another band on the course, performed the soulful guest vocal on the track. We’re not sure if Jamila wanted to stay or if the ransom wasn’t paid! Either way she is now an important member and H:Sharp are complete.
Taking influence from bands such as The Arctic Monkeys, Rat Boy, The Kooks and Green Day, they write and compose in their own unique style
So where did the name h:Sharp come from. The name originated from the day’s when Cam and John were at school. One day in the music room at Thomas Cowley School one of the other students sat on the piano keyboard and someone said that sounded like a h#. Cam and John started to use it as a name for their work and school gigs. When the band formed at College they like the name so much they kept it.
h:Sharp have since had their music played on BBC radio and play regular gigs in and around their area, but always love playing in their favourite venue “The Voodoo Lounge at Mama Liz’s Stamford. Check out “Upcoming Events” at the top of the page and come see us.
